  During your stay in Startsevo you can expect to be undisturbed - no traffic noise, obnoxious crowds, or other malignant big city occurrences. You will be surrounded by sounds of nature, animals, and far-off farmers toiling the land. We, too, strive to provide an environment conducive to creative work.

• Valuable Resources
  

  Large shelves full of books are a distinct feature of our house. The content of this well-kept library can be used by our guests and serves as a valuable resource for many kinds of linguistic work.

  Being owned by people with linguistic and legal backgrounds, the guest house is well-stocked with dictionaries, grammars, study resources in English and Bulgarian. A few additional resources in French and German are available, too.

  In addition to those linguistic resources, we have a sizable collection of fiction and non-fiction books in Bulgarian and English. Among them are famous classics, works by modern authors, fantasy and science fiction novels and children's books.

• Translator's Residence
  

  At our guest house we offer translators and other creative or literary professionals a place to work, study, and devote themselves to their project for a number of weeks at a time.

  There are separate work places for up to three guests at once. We are equipped with a fast broadband Internet connection that is wirelessly accessible throughout the house. Even mobile connectivity is excellent, as we are located right across the valley from the local cell tower.

  Working with a spectacular view while breathing clean air in the remote surroundings of the Rhodope Mountains reliably unlocks creativity and can significantly enhance efficiency. Thus, over the years, many of our guests have managed to get important work done while staying in Startsevo.

• Creative Environment
  

  Inspiration is key for any kind of creative work. We have therefore prepared an environment with all items necessary for a wide range of handicrafts and creative activities.

  We can offer brushes, water colors, and easel for painting; colorful yarn and needles for knitting; unique pieces of fabric for patchwork; as well as authentic folklore models to trigger your imagination. You can even get a crash course in traditional knitting and embroidery.

  There is also an intricate piece of sports equipment which you won't need, since you're more likely to prefer some gardening or a bit of wood chopping. As unlikely as it sounds, most people find small amounts of outdoor manual labor most relaxing.
